Jia, a self-made billionaire who topped the Best CEO list of Forbes China in 2014, was born in Xiangfen County of Shanxi Province in North China in 1973. He was the third child of a teacher and a housewife. After completing his post-graduate degree in business administration, he joined the Shanxi Province tax office at the age of 22 as a technical support officer. However, less than a year later, he left his job and started a technical consultancy firm.

This marked the start of Jia’s entrepreneurial journey and he went on to found many other companies, one after the other. In 2002, he founded Sinotel Technologies Ltd.
